Modern Perspectives in International Law
This BIP academic initiative is dedicated to the analysis of key issues in public international law, with special attention to its contemporary application and challenges. The programme will cover topics such as sources and subjects of public international law, state and non-state responsibility, international adjudication and the ICJ, use of force under international law, international criminal law. The programme will be developed by UKEN in collaboration with academic staff from collaborating Universities.
The programme will combine traditional academic instruction with interactive and experiential learning. Lectures delivered by international law experts will be complemented by case studies, group discussions, and simulation exercises (e.g., moot courts or diplomatic negotiations). Participants will engage in problem-based learning to apply legal concepts to contemporary international issues. The blended format will include both in-person sessions and online components to foster cross-border academic exchange and collaboration.
